Introduction to PGDBL 

Welcome to India’s only one-year, online, Post-graduate Diploma in business law P.G.D.B.L!

The P.G.D.B.L. has been developed by W.B.N.U.J.S., India’s leading national law school, in partnership with Rainmaker, a professional education company focused on the legal ecosystem.

The programme shall be delivered and managed on myLaw.net, the world’s first contextual network focused on the law and lawyers.

P.G.D.B.L. has been specially designed to aid:

• Legal Professionals: Keep abreast with changes in business laws and synthesise current affairs and their impact on the law.

• Business and Management Professionals: Gain working knowledge of business laws and their application in order to prepare for impact on business operations.

• Entrepreneurs: To understand the impact of law on their business and also identify most suitable legal framework to work in. For example, when starting a new business, knowledge of business laws helps the entrepreneur decide whether their business model will run best as an incorporated company, a limited liability partnership, or as a sole propreitership.

• Final year students: Gain comprehensive insights into application of law into business and gain unique experience differentiating them from classmates.

The curriculum has been designed keeping abreast with the vibrant market dynamics along with an expert committee, comprising of leading academicians from the W.B.N.U.J.S and industry leaders. Upon joining the programme, you will gain access to a student pool comprising of lawyers, business managers from companies such as Oracle, Infosys, TCS and more, professors from B-Schools and engineering colleges as well as engineers and science graduates. As their colleague in the programme, you will not only hear alternate perspectives on application of business laws but also gain industry contacts for life!

The ‘How’ and ‘Why’ of Online Learning

We believe that technology provides scalable and effective platforms that can create effective learning environments. Our Academic Team is experienced in creating a learning management system to address the unique needs of students learning online. The programme will be taught and delivered using the myLaw.net, an online learning platform designed and developed by Rainmaker.

P.G.D.B.L. on myLaw.net is a perfect solution for working professionals who have limited time to devote because of professional and personal commitments. myLaw.netallows a student to access training materials and resources anywhere, and at any time; it allows students to receive feedback and support from faculty, and ensures a continuous dialogue between learners and trainers, without ever having to step inside a brick and mortar classroom.

However, the programme emulates a real classroom experience and includes features such as full-time faculty support, peer interaction, ease of access and more!

Candidates enrolled for the programme will have continuous faculty support through the duration of the programme. The support will be provided through online as well as offline. Our Faculty are available on call, and are in constant touch with students through online communication channels such as Skype. Students also have the option of attending classes, which are conducted through web conferencing, sitting at home.
